In early August 2006 the Genesee County Land Bank approved the purchase of the Berridge Hotel with hopes of closing in September at a cost of approximately $725,000.
This financially risky project will be using as many as 17 sources of funding - from grants from local foundations to historical tax credits.
According to early plans, the 90-unit hotel will be converted to 20 condos and 2 businesses. Condos may range from $90,000 to $140,000 with some units reserved for low-income tenants.
