Community Foundation of Greater Flint
Flint, MI 48502
Established in 1988, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint's main goal is to improve the quality of life in Genesee County. Its approach to reaching that goal consists of projects designed to "enhance community strengths, solve community problems, and enrich the lives of area residents."
Being a public charity, the CFGF is not affected by rules which affect private foundations. Its Board of Trustees consists of 20 volunteer members whom authorize all charitable distributions. The foundation's assets are managed by a number of financial entities including Citizens Bank, Banc One Investment Advisors, Michigan National Bank, and the Lapeer County Bank, among others.
Along with the rest of Genesee County, the Community Foundation regularly supports beautification and economic development in downtown Flint.
