Downtown Business Districts
In order to organize our database of downtown businesses, we have grouped them into "districts". These districts are not official but make it easier to understand the general location of a business.
Some of the districts are self-explanatory, but we'll specify the ones that aren't so clear. The "Downtown Core" district is the area between the Flint River and Fifth St. and between Grand Traverse and I-475. The Carriage Town district lies between Fifth Avenue and the Flint River from Saginaw St. to Begole Street. University Village will eventually cover the area between Hamilton Ave. and Fifth Ave. from Saginaw St. to M.L. King Avenue.
